Remodeling One Particular Room Can Add More Value to Your Home
Remodeling just one room can be the best investment you can make in your homes value, but it can be difficult if you don’t have a sold plan. There are certain rooms that are far more valuable to remodel than others. This article will look at one particular room that might be more beneficial to remodel.
Kitchens Are the Place to Start Your Remodel
The kitchen is like the wheels on a car. It seems to be one of the first things that people notice or check out when visiting a home or purchasing a home. When you remodel your kitchen you should have one or two of the following objectives.
Main Reason Number One – If you are going to be remodeling your kitchen for values sake then you want to look at sinks and counter space as your main objectives for improvement. Sinks and counters are two items that are the most used parts of the kitchen on a regular basis. Although you do use your fridge, stove, and other appliances often --they are not the main value in a kitchen remodeling project.
M ain Reason Number Two – Think about adding convinces with cabinets and storage. If value is not your number one priority then you should look at adding some nicer cabinetry to the kitchen or adding a new storage pantry. This not too say that you are not going to increase the value of your kitchen because you will, but the idea is to make the kitchen more user friendly with this type of remodel.
Once you have settled on your reason for the remodel you can start looking at options and create a solid plan. If the sinks are a priority then you should look at your counter space and determine of you could add an additional bay to the sink or maybe add a second sink to a center island. The sink does not need to be the top of the line. The important factor is space and that it will allow you to do you’re washing chores.
It’s All In The Faucet
The most important factor for the sink remodeling will be your faucet system you choose. This is an area that you should NOT try to go cheap on. Invest in a more expensive faucet system with a nice sprayer and other features. The smoother action and nicer spray the faucet has the more value you will be adding.
If you are going to do remodeling work on cabinets or storage you might be able to save some money by refinishing your old cabinets. Then you could add some new handles or hinges and have some very nice cabinets without the big expense. The storage could be as simple as adding a decorative stand to a corner where fruits and cans could be displayed.
The next remodeling job you do should be one that either adds value or convince. Hopefully it will do both. Look at your kitchen and decide of you could add some nice remodel features there. If the kitchen is good then look at your bathrooms or add a recreation room. You will find many good remodel ideas at the local home improvement stores.
